Tencent released Hy4 on November 4, adding image understanding and computer-use capabilities to its flagship model. The company says it can work through graphical interfaces and command-line tools, with specialized training for software including Blender and CAD.

Availability and announced pricing

The upgrade also targets longer, multi-step workflows and stronger instruction following. Tencent lists availability through TokenHub, WorkBuddy, CodeBuddy and other products. Announced standard API pricing remains approximately US$0.90 per million input tokens and US$2.70 per million output tokens, excluding promotional discounts. These details come from Tencent’s launch announcement.

Why it matters for builders

Hy4 gives developers another model to evaluate for workflows combining visual information with software actions:

For app and website teams, useful trials could include screenshot-based interface checks or supervised design workflows. These are evaluation opportunities, not results from our own testing.

A launch is not a checkpoint download

One important distinction: Tencent’s announcement says model weights and system cards will follow in the coming days. That is a commitment, not confirmation that the new checkpoint is already downloadable. The earlier Hy4 Preview release is separate.
